Asylum: Housing
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 16 June 2026 to Question 7704 on Asylum: Housing, what criteria her Department uses to determine whether the publication of aggregate or proportional data on sites under consideration for asylum accommodation would pose a security risk; and what assessment has been made against those criteria in this case.
Answered by Alex Norris
Any decision to publish data relating to asylum accommodation is considered against the possible risk of doing so. For example, asylum accommodation population statistics are released quarterly, providing a breakdown by accommodation type and region, but not by specific address to maintain the safety of those accommodated, as well as staff working at some of those locations.
