Department for Work and Pensions: Blackpool

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeDepartment for Work and PensionsTabled Answered 3 July 2026UIN 13277

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what alternative locations are being considered for staff currently based at Blackpool Peel Park.

Answered by Andrew Western

On 25 June 2026, I made a Written Statement (HCWS153) to announce the department’s intention to relocate around 750 colleagues and the services they provide, from Peel Park to Fylde View by April 2027. Approximately 1,180 colleagues will remain in Peel Park.

Fylde View is the department’s purpose built, high quality, modern and sustainable office located centrally within the Talbot Gateway development in Blackpool town centre, approximately 3.8 miles from Peel Park.

The department continually reviews its estate requirements and which locations to operate from to support future service delivery. Whenever there is a change to our locations which impacts colleagues, we aim to provide 9-months' notice.
