Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government: Regulation

Asked by Sir James CleverlyConservativeMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 6 July 2026UIN 13493

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the Regulatory Policy Committee document entitled Post-implementation reviews outstanding across government 2015 to 2026, updated 12 May 2026, what steps his Department is taking to undertake and publish the outstanding Post Implementation Reviews.

Answered by Samantha Dixon

The Department is committed to meeting its obligation to evaluate regulations after they have been implemented, including to ensure they are achieving their objectives, remain necessary, and are having the intended effects. Where the Regulatory Policy Committee has identified post‑implementation reviews that remain outstanding, the department is working to complete and publish these as quickly as possible.
