Ballistic Missile Defence: Expenditure
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 6 of the Strategic Defence Review, published on 2 June 2025, how much of the new funding for homeland air and missile defence has been spent as of 26 June 2026.
Answered by Louise Sandher-Jones
It is not Ministry of Defence policy to comment on the exact numbers of weapons and capabilities procured, as disclosure of such detail could undermine operational security. The Strategic Defence Review committed to enhance the UK’s homeland air and missile defences, and the recently published Defence Investment Plan starts to implement this vision. Whilst spending has continued within extant programmes, the Defence Investment Plan invests a further £790 million in dedicated homeland Integrated Air and Missile Defence.
