BOWMAN Combat Radio System: Expenditure

Asked by James CartlidgeConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 6 July 2026UIN 13513

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 6 of the Strategic Defence Review, published 2 June 2025, how much of the £1bn investment to deliver the new Digital Targeting Web has been spent as of 26 June 2026.

Answered by Luke Pollard

As my right hon. Friend, the Defence Secretary, set out in his statement to the House on 30 June 2026, the Digital Targeting Web (DTW) will receive a £1.8 billion investment from the Defence Investment Plan to integrate the Armed Forces through AI, software, and hardware, connecting sensors, decision-makers, and effectors to accelerate multi-domain targeting.

Work to scope out, develop and source elements of the DTW have been underway for some time. The confirmation of the funding for the DTW in the Defence Investment Plan means we can now progress work to the next phase.
