To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of trends in organised crime activity across England and Wales.

This Government are committed to tackling serious and organised crime (SOC) in all forms, in line with the priorities set out by this Government on crime and policing and security, including the Safer Streets Mission and border security. The UK's response to SOC is delivered through a whole-system approach involving law enforcement and wider operational partners, operating at local, regional and national levels. The National Crime Agency (NCA) leads the national operational response to the most serious forms of organised and high-harm crime, while also setting priorities and coordinating activity across the wider system. Police forces and Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCUs) deliver the majority of operational activity to disrupt organised crime groups (OCGs) affecting communities.
The NCA is charged with undertaking an annual assessment of the serious and organised crime (SOC) threat to the UK, including analysis of emerging and evolving trends in this threat. The National Strategic Assessment (NSA) 2026 of Serious Organised Crime can be found here.
