Drugs: Smuggling

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentHome OfficeTabled Answered 6 July 2026UIN 13725

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the press release entitled Leaders' declaration on the fight against drug trafficking, published on 17 June 2026, what contribution the UK will make to the proposed G7 Action Plan.

Answered by Sarah Jones

Following the signing of the Leaders’ declaration on the fight against drug trafficking at the G7 Leaders’ summit in Evian, the UK’s collaboration with G7 partners on the proposed G7 Action Plan on the infiltration of legitimate public and private institutions by drug trafficking networks and organised criminal groups is ongoing. The UK’s contribution will include sharing with G7 partners our national expertise and best practice on responding to relevant threats, as well as working to shape and implement the action plan to ensure it addresses the threat most effectively.
