The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 23 June 2026 to Question 11486 on Driving Tests, what process the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency follows when it identifies a person who may have falsely asserted that they were another person when booking, amending, cancelling or swapping a practical driving test; and to which authority such cases are referred.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) conducts ongoing monitoring of the practical driving test booking service.
As set out in the terms and conditions of booking, if DVSA cannot be satisfied that a booking for a practical car test has been made by the person intending to take the test, the Agency could take one or more of the following actions without reference to any other authority:
- contact the individual to confirm the details for the booking or request additional information
- issue a warning notice
- revoke ability to book and manage a driving or riding test online
- reschedule or cancel a practical driving test booking.
If DVSA felt an offence had been committed, they would seek legal advice on the appropriate next steps to take, which may include referring to appropriate authorities.
