Veterans: Health

Asked by Mims DaviesConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 7 July 2026UIN 13871

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether he has had discussions with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions on ensuring that veterans are not financially disadvantaged as a result of service-related injury and illness in East Grinstead and Uckfield Constituency.

Answered by Mr Calvin Bailey

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) works closely with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to ensure that the interaction between Armed Forces compensation schemes and the benefits system is properly understood, and that the needs of veterans are fully considered. The issue has been discussed by MOD and DWP Ministers with the aim of ensuring that all veterans using the benefit system experience fair treatment.
