The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 26 June 2026 to Question 11455 on Electric Vehicles: Charging Points, whether her Department plans to centrally collate data on the rated output of public electric vehicle charging points.

The Department already centrally collates data on the rated output of public electric vehicle (EV) chargers and publishes official statistics using the following power band classifications:

Standard (3kW to less than 8kW)

Standard plus (8kW to less than 50kW)

Rapid (50kW to less than 150kW)

Ultra-rapid (150kW or above)

Public EV chargers are organised into these power bands to reflect typical use cases and the different charging needs often required at different public locations. Further information is available in the Department's published guidance on EV charging infrastructure statistics:
