Vagrancy Act 1824
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what funding has been allocated to local authorities to support the implementation of the repeal of the Vagrancy Act 1824.
Answered by Alison McGovern
This change does not introduce any new duties for local authorities so there is no specific funding allocated to local authorities to support the implementation of the repeal of the Vagrancy Act 1824, however, the Government has committed £3.6 billion over the next three years to deliver its National Plan to End Homelessness. This funding will support local authorities to prevent and respond to homelessness and rough sleeping in their areas.
