Infrastructure: Investment
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment she has made of the adequacy of the UK’s current pipeline of investable infrastructure projects to meet anticipated demand from long-term institutional investors.
Answered by Lucy Rigby
Delivering the 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy’s ambitious programme for transforming the UK’s infrastructure will require significant increases in private investment to complement and maximise the value of the extensive public investment underway. To help improve the visibility of infrastructure investment opportunities, government has developed and published the dynamic Infrastructure Pipeline. This has been designed in close collaboration with investor and supply chain stakeholders and includes key investment metrics to support inward investment.
The Pipeline currently includes 235 projects and programmes that have indicated confirmed or potential opportunities for private investors over the next 10 years.
