Energy: Prices
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of community batteries on household electricity bills.
Answered by Michael Shanks
The Government recognises that community batteries have the potential to reduce household electricity bills, particularly for lowincome households and those who have not historically benefited from such technologies, by storing cheaper renewable electricity and using it at times of higher demand.
On 4 June, the Department launched a Call for Evidence to gather further evidence on the scale of these potential bill savings and how the benefits can be passed on to participating households.
