To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many Youth Jobs Grant placements the Government plans to support in each financial year of the Spending Review period.

The Youth Jobs Grant launched on the 30 June 2026, giving employers across Great Britain access to £3,000 for each eligible young person they hire into a job registered with the scheme. The grant is available to employers of any size, provided it operates within Great Britain, and is designed to support young people into work and deliver jobs across all regions.
The scheme aims to support up to 60,000 job opportunities for young people over the three years of the scheme’s duration (2026-2029). Assuming participation aims are met, there is an estimated average cost of £3,100 per incentivised job. A large majority of this cost is the grant payment made to employers, but other costs are included, such as staff, overheads, digital, legal and communications costs.
A comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan is in place which will monitor the delivery of the scheme, including the geographic and regional spread of vacancies. This will enable future targeted engagement with employers to boost vacancies in underrepresented regions if required.
