To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the capacity of UK air traffic control systems to handle passenger and cargo volumes safely.

Air Traffic Control services in the UK are operated by NATS En Route Ltd, under a licence issued by the Secretary of State and regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
NERL is required to assess and make decisions about how it best manages UK airspace, including in relation to its systems and resourcing levels needed to safely manage air traffic. The safety of aircraft and passengers is always NERL’s overriding priority in discharging its responsibilities.
