Counter-terrorism: Information Sharing
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps she is taking to help improve counter-terrorism intelligence sharing between agencies.

Counter-terrorism is a whole-of-government effort in response to a terrorist threat that is diverse, dynamic and complex. This work is underpinned by the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST.
Collaboration and information sharing is supported via regular engagement through the governance of the CONTEST system, which monitors the implementation of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy and ensures that we maintain effective co-ordination across government.
As set out in the latest iteration of the strategy, the Government is making transformational improvements to respond to the evolving threat landscape.
One example of how we have strengthened our approach is the development of the Counter-Terrorism Operations Centre (CTOC). CTOC brings together professionals from across the national security community and wider public services, under one roof, enabling greater collaboration, information sharing and operational effectiveness.
We keep the delivery of CONTEST under constant review to ensure our approach remains fit for purpose in response to emerging risks and challenges.
