Department for Transport: Training

Asked by Mr Richard HoldenConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 6 July 2026UIN 14992

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 25 June 2026 to Question 11745 on Capacity Development Training, how many capacity development training sessions were delivered overseas since 4 July 2024; in which countries those sessions took place; whether each session was delivered by (a) officials of her Department or (b) an external training provider; and what the cost to the public purse was of each session.

Answered by Simon Lightwood

These capability development training sessions were in support of maritime and aviation security objectives. We do not routinely comment on matters of national security. In this instance, disclosing the countries worked with would not be in the public interest due to the impact on both the UK’s national security and the national security interests of international partners.
