Temporary Accommodation

Asked by Sarah PochinReform UKMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 7 July 2026UIN 15132

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, how many households are living in temporary accommodation in each region of England.

Answered by Alison McGovern

Homelessness is far too high, but the government’s National Plan to End Homelessness sets out the steps that we are taking to get back on track to ending homelessness. The government publishes quarterly data including the number of households in temporary accommodation broken down by English region on gov.uk here. You can access the most recent quarterly data here. The number of households in temporary accommodation by region is included in table TA1.
