The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 23 June 2026 to Question 9592 on Local Government: Elections, what is the total sum that has now been paid from HM Government to the claimant, including both the initial payment and the payment of 5 May 2026.

Answered by Alison McGovern

I refer the hon. Member to the answer given to Question UIN 9592 on 23 June 2026. The government agreed to meet the claimant’s reasonable legal costs, in line with standard practice where proceedings are settled. Those costs have now been agreed and paid in full.
