The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, whether the Government Office for Science provides guidance to Departments on the requirements to publish Area of Research Interest.

Answered by Kanishka Narayan

The Government Office for Science (GO-Science) provides guidance to departments on the publication of Areas of Research Interest (ARIs). GO-Science published updated guidance on GOV.UK in November 2024, which advises ministerial departments, non-ministerial departments, agencies and arm’s-length bodies on the development, publication and use of ARIs.
