The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps he is taking to resolve backlogs in the issuing of RSS to veterans.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) continues to work closely with the Armed Forces Pension Scheme (AFPS) administrator to issue Remediable Service Statements (RSS) and reduce outstanding volumes as quickly and accurately as possible. To date, this has included increasing administrative resource, implementing automation to reduce manual processing, and reallocating the workforce to allow staff to focus on the most complex cases. Regular reviews are conducted with the scheme administrator to monitor progress and improve throughput.

The MOD is finalising the timetable for completion of RSS issuance and will communicate confirmed timescales to affected members once available.
