Lord Mandelson

Asked by Alex BurghartConservativeForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 9 July 2026UIN 15410

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 25 June 2026 to Question 428 on Members: Correspondence, and with reference to the FCDO Complaints Procedure published on gov.uk, whether a formal complaint under Stage 1 can be taken forward if the Civil Servant in question leaves the Civil Service.

Answered by Seema Malhotra

Stage one of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Complaints Procedure published on gov.uk relates specifically to complaints about consular service. This would not be an appropriate avenue for a complaint of this nature to be pursued.
