To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, Table 7: Spending on the Air Domain, what is the scope of the £860m funding for the Hawk T1 and T2.

The £860 million is to maintain the safe operation of the Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 until the arrival of the Jet Training System. This will replace the Hawk T2 training aircraft that does not meet future training demands, ahead of the UK Military Flying Training System replacement due in 2033. The project will deliver a platform that provides the best value for money and training, and that can also be used to replace the Red Arrows’ Hawk T1, due out of service in March 2030.
