Warships: Procurement

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 10 July 2026UIN 15529

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is the Planning Assumption for Service Entry of Type 91.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Defence Investment Plan announced the development of the Type 91 uncrewed missile platform as part of the Royal Navy’s future Hybrid Navy capability. Detailed requirements and delivery timelines remain subject to ongoing concept and assessment work. Current planning assumptions support the progressive introduction of Hybrid Navy capabilities from the early 2030s, but no specific Service Entry date has yet been set for Type 91.
