Department for Transport: Public Relations
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 30 June 2026 to Question 13237, if she will provide the relevant extracts from the contracts finder website pertaining to which (a) arm's length bodies and (b) other bodies sponsored by his Department currently hold contracts with (i) public affairs, (ii) lobbying and (iii) government relations consultancies; and what the value and purpose of each such contract is.
Answered by Simon Lightwood
Each ALB and other bodies sponsored by the Department follow the same principles in line with transparency requirements for contracts awarded over £12,000 (including VAT) by publishing on the Governments Contracts Finder Service or Find a Tender service.
Contracts Finder for public sector contracts worth over £12,000 (including VAT) in England and with non-devolved bodies
Find a Tender for high value public sector contracts in the UK, usually above £139,688
The Department does not have immediate oversight of on the number of contracts awarded via individual ALBs, Public bodies as they run their own procurements and engagement should be made directly, or specific search via Contracts Finder or Find a Tender Service.
