Asylum: RAF Barnham

Asked by Nick TimothyConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 7 July 2026UIN 15493

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will take steps to revise her plans to house asylum seekers at RAF Barnham close to Barnham Church of England VC Primary School.

Answered by Alex Norris

Several former military sites are being used or are being considered as temporary accommodation for people who have claimed asylum.

Where new sites are being considered or changes to existing sites use are proposed, such as extending occupation or increasing capacity, no final decision will be taken until the necessary assessments, planning permissions and approvals have been completed and properly considered.
