Lord Mandelson
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to Volumes 1 and 2 of the Government response to the Humble Address on Lord Mandelson, whether people mentioned in the Government return to the Humble Address were consulted on any (a) exclusions and (b) redactions in the material that was released prior to publication; and whether there was a Maxwellisation process.
Answered by Nick Thomas-Symonds
I refer the Hon Member to the Government’s statement and release of information on 1st June, providing an update on the response to the Humble Address. The documents published in the first and second tranches contain the entirety of the documents the Government has available for disclosure, except those being withheld at the request of the Metropolitan police. The methodological note included in this publication provides a detailed overview of the information gathering and redactions process.
