Asked by Charlie DewhirstConservativeDepartment for Environment, Food and Rural AffairsTabled Answered 9 July 2026UIN 15819

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the Regulatory Policy Committee document, "Post-implementation reviews outstanding across government 2015 to 2026", updated 12 May 2026, what steps is the department taking to undertake and publish each the outstanding Post Implementation Reviews identified by the Committee.

Answered by Stephen Morgan

The Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC) identified one outstanding Post Implementation Review for Defra: The Reduction and Prevention of Agricultural Diffuse Pollution (England) Regulations 2018, commonly known as Farming Rules for Water. The Department has completed this review. The RPC rated it fit for purpose, and the review and RPC opinion were published in May 2026.
