APS Accessibility Advisory Panel
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to the written statement of 23 April 2026, to Question HCWS1537, on Automated Passenger Services, whether the APS Accessibility Advisory Panel will be a new Arm’s Length Body.
Answered by Simon Lightwood
The Automated Passenger Services Accessibility Advisory Panel (APS AAP) is not an Arm's Length Body. It is a non-statutory panel of independent experts.
The Disabled Person’s Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC), the longstanding independent expert committee established by the Transport Act 1985, also continues to provide advice to the government on APS.
