Special Educational Needs: Public Consultation
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, if her Department will publish a breakdown of respondents to the SEND reform consultation by relevant characteristic, including families of children with education, health and care plans and disabled respondents, so that the representativeness of the responses can be assessed; and what independent scrutiny her Department will apply to information provided by local authorities during that consultation.
Answered by Georgia Gould
Following the closure of the formal special educational needs and disabilities consultation on 18 May, the department is now carefully reviewing and taking into account all responses.
We are committed to ensuring that every voice in this consultation is heard and carefully considered. Independent expert researchers are leading a consultation analysis, with the final consultation response to be published in due course.
