Railways: Rural Areas

Asked by Edward MorelloLiberal DemocratDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 15 July 2026UIN 16303

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment his Department has made of the adequacy of rail connectivity for rural constituencies such as West Dorset.

Answered by Keir Mather

The Department for Transport does not routinely assess the adequacy of rail connectivity on a constituency-by-constituency basis. However, the Department considers connectivity impacts as part of its wider appraisal of rail services and infrastructure investment.
