Railways: North East Hampshire

Asked by Alex BrewerLiberal DemocratDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 15 July 2026UIN 16248

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of short-notice rail service cancellations on the economy in North East Hampshire constituency.

Answered by Keir Mather

The Department for Transport has not made a specific assessment of the impact of short-notice rail service cancellations on the economy in the constituency of North East Hampshire. However, the Department recognises that cancellations and poor reliability can affect passenger journeys, access to employment and services, and wider economic productivity, and these impacts are considered through rail performance monitoring and appraisal processes.
