Asked by Joe RobertsonConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 9 July 2026UIN 16237

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of (a) regulation and (b) insurance on the development of the peer-to-peer car sharing sector.

Answered by Keir Mather

Better Connected: A Strategy for Integrated Transport sets out this Government’s ambition to scale up shared mobility. We have committed to publishing new guidance later this year for Local Authorities on actions they can take to support car sharing, which will include content on peer-to-peer car sharing. The Department is continuing to engage with stakeholders across the sector on broader issues.
