Car Sharing
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the potential implications of recent developments in the peer-to-peer car sharing market, including the withdrawal of Zipcar from the UK, for the future of the sector; and whether she plans to review the policy framework governing peer-to-peer car sharing.
Answered by Keir Mather
Department for Transport guidance asks Local Transport Authorities to consider car sharing when they produce their Local Transport Plans. Better Connected: A Strategy for Integrated Transport sets out our ambition to scale up shared mobility and we will publish new guidance for Local Authorities on actions they can take to support car sharing, including content on peer-to-peer car sharing, later this year.
