To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to paragraph 46 of the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, how many Type 26 build slots are allocated to the a) Royal Navy and b) Royal Norwegian Navy during the near-term investment period from FY2026/27 and FY2029/30.

The Type 26 programme remains focused on delivering a combined fleet of at least 13 frigates to hunt for Russian submarines in the North Atlantic, the biggest British warship deal in history and centrepiece of the Lunna House Agreement.
That includes eight Type 26 ASW frigates for the Royal Navy, and at least 5 to Norway. Detailed production scheduling and the allocation of individual build slots associated with United Kingdom and Norwegian requirements continue to be developed with industry and international partners.
