Asked by Greg SmithConservativeDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 25 August 2026UIN 16564

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he plans to address the postcode lottery in community glaucoma care across regions in England.

Answered by Department of Health and Social Care

Health services are a devolved matter and arrangements for the commissioning and delivery of primary eye care services differs across the United Kingdom. However, the Department does work closely with our counterparts in the devolved governments to share expertise and identify new opportunities to improve health and social care delivery across the UK, including learning from the different approaches to the delivery of eye care services.
