Destroyers

Asked by Stuart AndersonConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 15 July 2026UIN 16533

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the change to a Hybrid Navy Fleet, if the UK will continue to have an evacuation capability provided by destroyers.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Royal Navy’s Hybrid systems will use a combination of crewed and uncrewed platforms, deployed based on operational demands. The Royal Navy will maintain its long-standing capability to offer Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations in times of crisis, and Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Operations, across all crewed Royal Navy ships.
