Warships: Unmanned Marine Systems

Asked by James CartlidgeConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 15 July 2026UIN 16482

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to his Department's press release entitled, At least six new air defence warships to defend UK waters and boost shipbuilding, published on 29 June 2026, how much has been spent on the delivery of the Type 92 uncrewed underwater sensing platforms as of 29 June 2026.

Answered by Luke Pollard

Expenditure incurred to date within this capability area has been associated with the development and maturation of the wider Future Air Dominance System (FADS) concept. Spending decisions on the Type 90 series are underway since their inclusion in the Defence Investment Plan.
