LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme: Publicity

Asked by Navendu MishraLabourMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 14 July 2026UIN 16594

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what advertising campaigns are planned during the final six months of the Financial Recognition Scheme.

Answered by Mr Calvin Bailey

The Government continues to take a proactive approach to ensure all those affected by the Ban are made aware of the LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme, including those who may not be engaged with established veteran or digital communication channels.

For the final six months of the Scheme, Defence will continue to work with local councils, the NHS, community groups, Veterans’ Commissioners, both LGBT and military charities and other relevant stakeholders.

The MOD will also launch an externally delivered communications campaign to reach more isolated veterans, supported by the continued distribution of a stakeholder pack to promote the Schemes.
