Asked by Adam JogeeLabourDepartment for Business and TradeTabled Answered 16 July 2026UIN 17148

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what recent discussions he has had with the Universal Postal Union on the work of his Department.

Answered by Blair McDougall

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is fully engaged with Universal Postal Union (UPU). This has included participation in the 28th UPU Congress in September 2025, where agreements were reached on international remuneration and transit rates for letters, bulky letters and parcels.

In partnership with UK postal operators, DBT also actively participates in the UPU standing and working groups, representing UK interests.
