The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, whether his Department has appointed anyone from outside the civil service other than special advisers since July 2024.

Since July 2024, the Department has appointed individuals from outside the Civil Service through established public appointments processes and direct ministerial appointments. In accordance with the Government's transparency requirements, details of candidates appointed to regulated and unregulated public appointments are published on the Public Appointments website, while direct ministerial appointment announcements are published on the Government's Direct Ministerial Appointments portal.
