The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, paragraph 25, what is the scope of the (a) £1.8 billion allocated to the Digital Targeting Web and (b) £370 million allocated to Project Asgard to develop and expand the Army’s new ‘Recce-Strike’ approach.
Answered by Luke Pollard
Through the Defence Investment Plan, the £1.8 billion of funding has been allocated to support projects and programmes associated with the Digital Targeting Web (DTW). This funding will support the development and delivery of both existing and new projects, enabling their integration into the evolving DTW ecosystem.
The £370 million allocated to the British Army's Project Asgard will support the delivery of digital communications, networking, data and information system capabilities under the Land Domain Command, Control, Compute and Communication (LDC4) Programme, which underpin the Army's 'Recce-Strike' approach. The LDC4 Programme has subsumed the former Land Environment Tactical Communications and Information Systems Programme and its component projects, and is now the Department's overarching programme for maintaining, enhancing and replacing tactical communications, information systems, networking and data capabilities.
