Undocumented Migrants: English Channel

Asked by David ReedConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 13 July 2026UIN 900974

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what proportion of small boat arrivals were removed in 2025.

Answered by Alex Norris

Around 7% of individuals removed or returned in the year ending March 2026 had arrived in the UK via small boat. We are targeting those behind these unacceptable crossings, with Organised Immigration Crime arrests up 55%, wider disruptions to criminal smuggling networks up nearly 50%, and small boat arrivals down around 40% so far this year.
