Armoured Fighting Vehicles

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 16 July 2026UIN 18237

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, paragraph 62, what is the planned number of each vehicle to be procured under the a) Light Mobility Vehicle and b) the Heavy Protected Mobility projects within the Land Mobility Programme.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Land Mobility Programme is a 20-year pan-Defence programme to deliver over circa13,000 digitally enabled, adaptable utility and protected mobility vehicles to the Joint Force. It comprises three sub-programmes: Heavy Protected Mobility (PM), Light PM, and Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV).

The total number of vehicles being procured is still subject to the ongoing assessment phase and concept phase of the sub-programmes.
