Navy: Unmanned Marine Systems
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 37 of his Department's document entitled Defence Investment plan, published 30 June 2026, whether his Department has contingency plans should the Hybrid Navy not be fully operational by 2035.
Answered by Luke Pollard
The Hybrid Navy is central to the Royal Navy’s future force design and will be delivered progressively through a mix of crewed and uncrewed capabilities. The Department continuously manages delivery risks, but the greater risk would be failing to adapt to the character of modern warfare.
