Asked by Stuart AndersonConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 20 July 2026UIN 18695

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what are the expected timelines of the Land Mobility Programme.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Land Mobility Programme (LMP) is a 20-year, pan-Defence programme to deliver digitally enabled, adaptable utility and protected mobility vehicles to the Joint Force. LMP comprises of three discrete sub-programmes: Heavy Protected Mobility (HPM), Light Protected Mobility (Lt PM) and Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV).

Each sub-programme is subject to separate investment approvals. Both HPM and Lt PM are in their Concept Phases, with timelines yet to be finalised. LMV is in its Assessment Phase with a competition due to start this year. Delivery of the first LMV platforms is anticipated from 2028, subject to successful competition and Departmental approvals.
