To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of local initiatives to tackle anti-social behaviour.

The Government’s police reforms will protect and strengthen neighbourhood policing by freeing local forces from national responsibilities so they can focus on issues that matter most locally, like anti-social behaviour (ASB). Every police force in England and Wales now has an ASB lead in place who will work with communities, stakeholders and the general public to implement their individual ASB Action Plans, which were published at the start of April.
The Safer Streets Summer Initiative ran from 30 June to 30 September 2025 and focussed on addressing antisocial behaviour, street crime, and retail crime in 649 town centres and similarly related areas across England and Wales. The Winter of Action ran from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 in over 613 areas and built on the success of the summer initiative.
Since the Safer Streets Summer Initiative began last summer, and following the culmination of the Winter of Action, ASB levels witnessed/ experienced in town centres have decreased by 5 percentage points (21% in July 2025 compared to 16% in February 2026).
Through the Crime and Policing Act, we are making our streets and neighbourhoods safer by strengthening the powers available to the police and other agencies to tackle ASB. Our new Respect Orders will give local agencies stronger enforcement capability to tackle the most relentless adult ASB offenders. The Home Office is currently developing arrangements for the monitoring and evaluation of Respect Orders, including the data that will be collected.
