Foreign Investment in UK: Northern Ireland
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what steps are being taken to attract inward investment and create jobs in NI.
Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
My department works closely with Northern Ireland Executive departments, Invest NI and other partners to attract inward investment and create jobs across Northern Ireland. BIST’s global network promotes NI internationally as an attractive investment destination, while the Office for Investment Place team and BIST NI support strategic opportunities, develop investor pipelines and can deploy UK Government levers where appropriate. The NI Enhanced Investment Zone, established across the whole of Northern Ireland, aims to accelerate investment, productivity and create jobs. Bank of America’s recent expansion into Belfast, creating up to 1,000 roles, demonstrates continued international confidence in NI’s investment proposition.
