The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what phases will the Jet Training System programme go through before a new jet training aircraft is available for use by a) the Military Flying Training System and b) the Red Arrows.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

Through the Defence Investment Plan, the department is investing £360 million into a new fast-Jet Training System, replacing the iconic but ageing Hawk aircraft.

The programme is ongoing and no final procurement decisions have been made.
