To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, paragraph 109, what is the full scope of the £10 million for Tranexamic Acid.

The £10 million for Tranexamic Acid (TXA) will fund the development and procurement of the TXA Autoinjector to allow life-saving blood clotting treatment to be given at the push of a button. The funding will further support the selection of a supplier through a competitive process.
The TXA Autoinjector has significant potential to reduce fatalities from blood loss on the battlefield building on lessons from Ukraine.
Once developed, the TXA Autoinjector could be adapted from use in the battlefield to any major trauma incidents and be used to help women in developing countries who suffer major blood loss during birth and are unable to access medical treatment.
